Cristiano Ronaldo has broken one more record. In qualifier of Europe Cup 2016 on Estadio Algarve, Faro, Saturday November 15, 2015, Portugal won the game 1-0 against Armenia. He scored the one and only goal for his team, at the same time, his solo goal to Armenia made him as new all times top scorer in history of Europe Cup. By this additional singe goal, Ronaldo has scored total 23 goals in 37 matches in Europe Cup, both in qualification stage and in final stage.
CR7 or Cristiano Ronaldo has broken previous record by Jon Dahl Tomasson dan Hakan Sukur. Tomasson scored 22 goals in 31 matches with Denmark during 1998–2007, while Sukur scored 22 goasl in 38 matches with Turkey during period of 1994–2007. Fernando Santos, Portugal’s coach praised Ronaldo as important player for his team, for his country and for him as coach.
In Europe Cup 2016 Qualifier, it’s the second goal of CR7. His first goal in this stage was scored when Portugal won over Denmark, on October. Quoted from UEFA, Ronaldo stated that he knew it would happen sooner or later to be all time top scorer of Europe, but it’s not his obsession because he will still continue to play for his national team for long time. It was a very special moment for him because he set the milestone in front of their great supporter, added him again.
For this additional three point from Armenia, Portugal now sits in second position in current group standing. They collect six points from three matches and only left one point from Denmark which sit on the top for now.
